Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women was founded in the year 1972 in order to provide quality education for girls residing in North Bangalore. Dr. K.N.V. Sastri, a noted scholar and historian, Dr. M.N. Mahadevan and Sri T.S. Rajam were the visionaries who took the bold step to empower women through education in the early 70's. Having started with just 12 students, the institution has carved a niche for itself among educational institutions in Bangalore and has transcended all boundaries in various areas of human pursuits with a current strength of over 4000 students.

The farsighted vision of a committed management, supported by a dynamic Director, dedicated Principals and a competent team of teaching and non-teaching fraternity has provided a learner-oriented environment.
